Auburn’s Hugh Freeze ‘proud’ of team, points to being on ‘same page’ for offensive explosion

The Auburn offense came alive Saturday against Mississippi State.

Coach Hugh Freeze, who was interviewed on the field prior to the start of the fourth quarter, credits his team’s offensive success to a couple of things.

“We’re getting more on the same page,” he told the SEC Network. “We’re playing with a little more confidence.”

Freeze was cautious, though, as his Tigers had few opportunities in the third quarter.

“We’re not playing with much juice on defense right now,” he said. “We need to get going. We only had one possession of offense in that quarter and got three points. Proud of our kids, but we have to finish.”

At the time of this posting, Auburn has rolled up more than 360 yards of total offense and 18 first downs. Payton Thorne has thrown for three touchdowns on the day.

The Tigers jumped out to a 24-3 halftime lead, scoring touchdowns on their first two drives and scoring on four of their six first-half drives.
